The GreenStreet Audit
The GreenStreet experience begins the moment you request a GreenStreet Home Energy Audit. After speaking with a GreenStreet consultant who will ask a few questions about your home and energy-use habits, your home energy audit is scheduled. A professional GreenStreet Advisor comes to your home to conduct a range of visual inspections, complete a series of measurements inside and outside the home, evaluate solar exposure and administer tests using sophisticated technology. The audit includes safety checks on carbon monoxide levels and possible natural gas leaks.
Your Advisor explores the many places in your home that might be leaking energy such as heating and air conditioning systems, ductwork, walls, ceilings, windows, doors, inefficient appliances and un-insulated water heaters and hot water pipes. Your GreenStreet Energy Advisor may also complete some on-the-spot improvements that will immediately improve your home’s energy efficiency.
Upon completion of your GreenStreet Audit, you will receive a summary of completed audit steps and a preliminary explanation of findings. A meeting to explain the comprehensive report of findings will be scheduled shortly after your audit. Your Advisor will discuss improvement options with you and act as your consultant as you decide which improvements to make and how they will be done.
You may be able to do some of the recommended improvements yourself – and your GreenStreet Auditor will complete some simple measures on the day of the audit. If you decide to make more significant improvements, GreenStreet Solutions can coordinate and manage qualified contractors to oversee the entire project for you. Upon completion, GreenStreet will assure the work has been done correctly and perform follow-up tests to confirm that energy issues have been addressed. Your advisor can also assist with financing options, if needed.
